History Speaks For Its Self
John M. Brown & Chuck German

East Coast Laser Engraving inherited a lifetime of down-on-the-farm family traditions. John Brown, my grandmother's dad, was just that kind of a man. Back in the mid-1800s, John built the family barn first, followed by his 12-room farmhouse, which served as his family home. John was a true builder, both constructing homes and crafting fine furniture.
I am honored to be just like my great-great-grandfather, a man I admire deeply. John used the virgin timber on his land to build all the family furnishings for his home. To this very day, I still have his kitchen chair, which my grandmother asked her dad for.
The glue he used back in 1850 was made from hide glue. This type of glue was very strong and widely used by all furniture builders at the time, and some furniture builders still use hide glue today.
Today, we use TiteBond II and III. The craftsmanship has undergone significant improvement over the last 175 years, and we have a deep affection for wood. We can create any wood project from scratch. If you have an idea on paper, we would love it if you would share it with us. You could have it made into something you have always wanted, and now you can admire your project for years to come.
